Rethink Your Dining Room…I Did
June 6, 2011 § 1 Comment
Why is a room necessary when you use it five times a year? How many places does a small family need to eat. I completely re-configured my house…I dissembled the theater we had in the lower level that no one used…put half the theater furniture in the dining room with a new Fancy LG TV that is better quality than real life…hidden in a large armoire…put the dining room in the living room and completely got rid of the eat-in kitchen…here is the result…

Other Examples:
For a bookworm, turning the dining room into a library may prove to be a useful solution. And if you also have family members who treat your house like a hotel, install a Murphy bed within your built-ins. This also helps to alleviate the problem of finding somewhere to stuff that pesky air mattress each morning.

Ideas for a Kid Friendly but Elegant Home
January 30, 2011 § 1 Comment
An elegant home in Las Vegas that was designed to be low-maintenance and as kid and pet-friendly as possible so that children and family could gather and have a relaxing time together.
The sofa is a sleeper, so the room can be used as a home theater or extra bedroom.
The sofa is upholstered in a soft, cotton chenille fabric, and the ottoman is covered with durable polyester fabric that will hold up well to shoes.
This beautiful dining room is hiding a secret: The top of the table lifts off to reveal a poker table underneath! The durable chair fabric is finished with pewter nail-head trim.
The heart of this home is the large, open area…the family room, kitchen and breakfast room. Commercial grade fabrics were used throughout to hold up to spills. All the flooring is easy to clean 24″ tile except in the carpeted bedrooms.
One of the guest rooms…
The gorgeous iron headboard was found at a yard sale. The bedding and accessories are from Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel. “You can get a great look and it doesn’t have to be super expensive,” she says.
I Love Zebra’s
January 23, 2011 § 2 Comments
It’s no secret that animal prints are huge in home decor right now. My favorite is Zebra print. A fun way to add whimsy to every type of decor. With its neutral colors, Zebra print is easier to incorporate than you may think. Go ahead, add a little stripe to your life!
